Yorkshire Airport is top for customer service

A Yorkshire airport, which received national praise earlier this year being named the best UK airport by an annual Which? member survey, has now been recognised locally.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport won the Customer Service Award, at the annual Doncaster Business Awards, arranged by the Chamber of Commerce.

Steve Gill, Managing Director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport said: “We are delighted to have won this award. Providing great customer service is a real team effort and involves every person in every role at the airport.

“We were delight with the accolade given to us following the Which? survey earlier in 2014 and this local recognition really is the icing on the cake.

“Our team works tirelessly to ensure that visitors to our airport have a good experience, this is no mean feat as travel can be a really stressful time for some. We are developing a credible track record for delivering exactly what passengers want from their regional airport over a number of years.

“Doncaster Sheffield Airport has continued to expand in 2014, with a growing customer base, expansion of existing routes and adding new destinations, and this is down to listening to our customers and taking their feedback seriously.

“For us it is returning customers and regular repeat business which provide a true indicator that our expected high levels of customer service are being achieved.

“We look forward to 2015 when we will continue to aim high in our delivery of excellent customer service and my thanks go to the team who have worked to deliver yet again in this area.”

The annual Doncaster Business Awards are arranged by Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and were presented this year by BBC’s Louise Minchin.

The event, which took place at Doncaster Racecourse, saw over 800 guests gathering to celebrate all that is good about Doncaster.
