Sheffield City Region just got closer
Fast and frequent connections by road, rail and bus make Doncaster Sheffield Airport an easy choice for the region’s travellers. With a new airport link road planned to open in 2016, Sheffield’s 1.8m people will be even closer to their next flight.
When we say that Doncaster Sheffield Airport is at the heart of the UK, we aren’t kidding. Five major motorways with north-south and east-west routes are within 20 minutes of the airport: M18, M1, A1(M), M62, M180.
By the new airport link road
In early 2016, work was completed on phase 1 of the new airport link road, named The Great Yorkshire Way. The road provides a highway to the airport from Junction 3 of the M18, making the airport more accessible from the motorway and reducing times, especially for those travelling from Sheffield, Rotherham, Leeds and Barnsley.
By rail and bus
Doncaster is a major station on the UK’s high-speed, north-south East Coast Mainline. London is 95 minutes away, three services per hour. There are also frequent regional services to major cities across the north and Midlands.
Doncaster Transport Interchange is one of the UK’s largest hubs offering train to bus and coach connections.
